Founded in 1983, in Cohoes, New York by a small group of local leaders who saw the need for a counseling center in the Northeastern sector of Albany County and lower Saratoga County. Our mission is to provide mental health counseling services for adults, children, and families. The goals are to maintain a counseling center to effectively enhance individual growth and to alleviate human suffering in individuals and families by offering educational and supportive services, especially in the areas of family life and social concerns. Such services are provided without discrimination because of a person’s race, sex, religion or their ability to pay. More than 350 people are served each year by the agency at its center in Cohoes and our satellite office in Scotia, N.Y.
